Cobbetts’ EC/ Competition team is experienced in handling all forms of EU law as it affects business in the UK and beyond.  Team members carry many years’ experience of working in the EU capital of Brussels and elsewhere.  From merger control to State aid, public procurement, anti-dumping, cartels, abuse of dominance, the common customs code and single market regulatory measures through to litigation before the European Courts, the Cobbetts team has advised big and small and public and private sector clients alike. 

Recent experience includes:

• Pursuing an action for annulment of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures before the European Court of First instance on behalf of two Indian exporters;
• Conducting a pan European EC Competition law compliance training programme across several different Member States;
• Notifying and clearing State aid programmes before the European Commission on behalf of UK regional authorities.
