Cobbetts’ London-based corporate practice has advised AIM-quoted gold mining company, Peninsular Gold, on the repurchase and cancellation of US$20 million in convertible loan notes.

Peninsular's projects are located in the vicinity of Raub, State of Pahang, Malaysia.   At Peninsular's Raub project, approximately 202,000 oz of proven reserves in the form of tailings have been identified, and Peninsular has recently completed the construction and commissioning of a 1.1mtpa Carbon-in-leach plant.  The first gold pour from the plant took place on 18th February 2009.

Cobbetts was recently ranked as the number one adviser to mining and mineral companies on AIM according to new statistics from Hemscott, the independent international provider of financial data. The firm also received the Law Society's Excellence Award for its work in exporting legal services in October 2008.
