The work of the public markets team has been shortlisted for a prestigious Law Society award in the category entitled Excellence in Exporting Legal Services.
A new category for 2008, the award will go to the firm that has broken new ground and actively developed new export markets.
Cobbetts’ entry, put together by Communications Manager Kate Roberts, highlights the international impact of the team, how they have developed their sector expertise, and how their initiative, in particular Andrew Wright’s, persuaded the then head of AIM to go to Australia and see the potential of bringing Australian companies to the market.
Charles Bond said: “Being shortlisted is great news for the team, and the firm, and proves our international credentials.
“It’s been a really strong two years for us. Not only has the firm opened the London office but we’ve completed some significant international transactions, and been ranked No.1 AIM adviser in Basic Materials by Hemscott for the whole of 2008 to date.
“But we’re not a team that rests on its laurels; there is plenty of work out there in the emerging markets for those willing to go and find it, and plenty of success to be had.”
The judging panel will be made up of the Law Society president, vice-president and deputy vice-president, plus a specialist judge in each category.
The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on 23 October. |
