Cobbetts advises Tai Ceredigion on transfer of 2230 homes
Dec 7 2009

Cobbetts LLP has advised social landlord, Tai Ceredigion, on the transfer of 2230 homes previously owned by Ceredigion County Council.

Following the transfer, Tai Ceredigion will be undertaking a substantial investment programme over the next 30 years, facilitated by over £48m funding from the Welsh Assembly Government and more than £35m private finance provided by Barclays Bank plc.

Housing and regeneration partner at Cobbetts, Hugo Stephens, and director, David Isaacson, advised on the deal.

Stephens commented: “The transfer means that over the next five years the residents of Tai Ceredigion will benefit from £40m investment into their homes that would not have been available had the homes remained under council ownership.

“The transfer demonstrates the strong commitments by the Ceredigion County Council and by Tai Ceredigion to deliver the best outcome for the residents of the town.”
