Cobbetts’ London-based corporate practice has advised on one of the few AIM admissions and fundraisings in recent months, acting for Dowgate Capital Advisers Limited and SVS Securities plc on the admission to AIM of Malaysian-based IT healthcare provider, MediLink Global UK (“MediLink”). Dowgate Capital acted as nominated adviser to MediLink, while SVS is the company’s broker.

MediLink provides electronic healthcard network services to insurance and other companies to facilitate the administration of medical claims and healthcare data management. MediLink gives members an electronic swipe card, which, on presentation, allows the healthcare service providers to electronically assess whether the member is eligible for insurance cover relevant to their condition.

MediLink has successfully raised £2.1 million before expenses at 18p a share, giving the company a market capitalisation of £18.6 million at the placing price. MediLink, which has 1.8 million cardholders in Malaysia, will use the proceeds to accelerate its two-year move into the Chinese market and to investigate tackling Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam.
